Carl Bruchhäuser

CARL BRUCHHÄUSER * it’s a wrap!

After intensive weeks of rehearsals and filming, Carl has finished shooting his first feature film lead role ... and in English! Congratulations to him! © Hannes Caspar

We’re talking about a debut film called ‘Goodman’ by Jonas Bohm. Carl takes on one of the main characters in the film, Hank Thompson: a passionate and paranoia-ridden head of logistics of a drug cartel, for whom nothing less than everything is at stake.

Many weeks of hard work and dedication have come to an end for Carl, and the first samples already promise that he has been allowed to unleash his acting intensity to the full.
We look forward to keeping you up to date as soon as it is released, or we can show and tell you more.

Now Carl is available again and ready for new adventurous challenges!

‘When shy student Jan meets animal rights activist Alice, it opens up a whole new world for him: The newly discovered diversity of nature and the intense feelings make the young man blossom. But the feverish amour fou with its animalistic elements also shakes his sense of reality. More than ten years after his highly acclaimed debut ENDZEIT, artist and filmmaker Sebastian Fritzsch has once again created a visually stunning and powerful psychological drama.’ (Source: www.filmfestival.cologne)

Viola Neumann

VIOLA NEUMANN * happy birthday!

Viola Neumann – our pearl from the Pott! We wish you the unimaginable best for your birthday! © Urban Ruths

Born in Gladbeck.
The city of the hostage drama in 1988.
She asks herself: Is this where the tendency to play unpredictable, vulnerable characters with macabre games comes from?
Fritz Haarmann, Elektra, Jericho (Children of Olympus), Yvonne, the Burgundian Princess … have adorned her repertoire to date.

Grandad founded the WAZ (Westdeutsche Allgemeine Zeitung) and saw his granddaughter become a young writer, but the ‘Blag’ (Ruhr German for child) had a mind of her own.

She played horse, dog and cat on all fours until the proud age of 12 … perhaps that explains her extreme physicality on stage? Fuelled by chips with mayo, of course.

Add all the invented stories, captured on cassette, the assembly line-like painting,https://www.newsmaenarts.com/blank-2

Hömma, that only leaves acting!

Even today, she still has to go to the little shop to get ‘Klümpkes’ (Ruhr German for sweets), for the dentist’s sake and of course to stroke her freelance heart.

She says hello to Frances McDormand, Joaquin Phoenix and Willem Dafoe! Some of her loves.

Christian Kaiser

CHRISTIAN KAISER * World premiere with ‘Landesverräter’!

Christian will be seen on the big screen at the upcoming Zurich Film Festival in the world premiere of the historical drama ‘Landesverräter’ by Swiss filmmaker Michael Krummenacher. © Birgitta Weizenegger

The film was produced from Krummenacher and Silvia Wolkan’s screenplay by Contrast Film, Amalia Film, Letterbox and Gretchenfilm together with SRF, ZDF, ARTE and Blue Enterteinment.

Our heartfelt thanks to Nina Moser from Revolve Casting to thank for casting Christian as ‘Stadtrat Gerber’!

Here is a short summary of the ZFF:

Switzerland, 1942: hoping to make a career as a singer in Germany, poor vagabond Ernst Schrämli sells Swiss military information to a flamboyant Nazi secret agent. When this comes to nothing, he is accused – and becomes the first Swiss victim of the Second World War. Michael Krummenacher’s modern historical drama is based on true events and casts a critical spotlight on Switzerland’s ambivalent dealings with Nazi Germany. A breathtaking drama of great discursive power.

The time has finally come: on 22 November, the long-awaited sequel to ‘The Empress’, which won the Emmy Award for Best Drama Series, will start on Netflix. We are delighted that our Carl Bruchhäuser will be representing one of the royal houses! © Hannes Caspar

‘The Empress II’ was created by author and showrunner Katharina Eyssen, produced by Sommerhaus (producer Jochen Laube) and directed by Barbara Ott and Maximilian Erlenwein, who was responsible for Carl’s storyline.

CAROLIN KARNUTH * on Apple TV+!

The first German Apple TV+ original series "Where's Wanda?" starts on Wednesday, 2 October! Our Carolin is part of the great cast and action! © Jeanne Degraa

The eight-part dark comedy was produced by UFA Fiction. It was directed, in Carolin’s case, by Tobi Baumann.
